Good discipleship conversations don't just happen -- they're sparked by good questions. Here are 50 questions organized by category to help you go deeper with whoever you're walking alongside.

Getting to Know Their Story (5 Questions)

These are great for early meetings or when you need to reconnect:

1. Tell me about your faith journey. How did you come to follow Jesus?
2. Who has had the biggest spiritual influence on your life?
3. What's one thing you wish someone had told you earlier in your faith?
4. What drew you to want to be in a discipleship relationship?
5. What does spiritual growth look like to you?

Understanding Their Current Season (8 Questions)

1. How would you describe your relationship with God right now -- close, distant, growing, struggling?
2. What's bringing you joy these days?
3. What's weighing on you?
4. Where are you feeling most stretched or challenged?
5. What's one area of your life where you feel stuck?
6. How are things at home? At work?
7. What are you excited about for the future?
8. What are you afraid of?

Scripture and Spiritual Disciplines (10 Questions)

1. Are you reading Scripture regularly? What are you reading?
2. What's something God has been teaching you from His Word recently?
3. When you read the Bible, what do you struggle with?
4. How is your prayer life? Do you feel like you're talking with God or at Him?
5. What spiritual discipline do you want to grow in?
